Bali Dogs
There are approximately over 800,000 stray dogs in Bali. The large number are related with Hinduism which are practiced by majority of Balinese, where dogs are used in ceremonies as offering.

Preventing overpopulation, some Balinese veterinarians volunteer in a field clinic operated by Yudisthira Swarga (Bali street dogs foundation). On the field, vets travel to overpopulated area such as Tabanan, 10 miles from Denpasar. Male and female dogs are sterilized, while wounded and sick ones are treated.

The sterilization program has so far prevented literally hundreds of thousands more street dogs in Bali.
