Lost
in Malls
In Jakarta, there are approximately
100 malls. The number is adding as we speak.
Despite the global economic recession, malls are still packed
as ever, especially on weekends. People go not only to shop
but also to hang out and spend their time out of routines.
It is in a slow but certain pace that
malls is replacing conservative recreational and entertainment
places. Now in a mall we can find literally everything.
Either aware or not, malls have
become an integral part of living in a big city. We are trying
to catch a brief of time to be within, to feel its crowdedness
and its shinning glimmer. Only to found ourselves, in the
end, looking a way out from it, back to reality when the lights
are dimming and shutting off.
